Education Cannot Wait: Relief Efforts in Kuchchaveli

Date: 28th December 2025 Location: Kuchchaveli, Trincomalee, Sri Lanka

Today marks a significant milestone in our relief efforts following the Didwa Cyclone and severe flooding. While the water has receded in many areas, the damage to household goods and school supplies remains a major hurdle for local families.

The Initiative: To ensure that children’s education continues despite the impact of natural disasters, Al Hija Charity Organization, with the generous support of the Moon Group of Companies, conducted a stationery distribution drive in Kuchchaveli.

What was Distributed: Underprivileged students received essential school supplies, including:

  • Notebooks and writing materials.

  • Drawing kits and pens.

  • School bags and basic stationery items.

Our Objective: Natural disasters like the recent floods destroy more than just furniture—they threaten the future of our youth. By providing these tools today, we are ensuring that no child in Trincomalee has to pause their learning journey because of the Didwa Cyclone.

"A small pen in the hand of a student is a powerful tool for rebuilding a nation."

A Heartfelt Thank You: We extend our deepest gratitude to the Moon Group of Companies for their continuous partnership and to our volunteers who worked tirelessly on the ground in Kuchchaveli.
